ML320 Disk Array

I have a Proliant Server ML350 running W2K with 4x18.2GB disks (ULTRA3 SCSI, 15k) configured as RAID5. I would like to replace them with 4x36.4GB disks (ULTRA320 SCSI, 15K) with as less interruption as possible. What would be the easiest and fastest way to do that?
Thanks in advance.

Re: ML320 Disk Array

Hello Davor,
Please make sure that the BIOS and firmware on the controller is uptodate. Just shut down the server and replace one disk only. let it rebuild and then replace the disks same way i.e. one at a time and let it rebuild. Mind you there will be extra space available and you will have to create another logical drive. The other way would be to make a complete backup and recreate the array with larger capacity drives and restore. I am not sure if that is the option you would want to go for because it would be the right way and less hassels.

Regards,
