I have an ML330 with Dual Channel ATA RAID Controller.
I have configured my system with a single disk (RAID0) and now want to add an extra disk.
When I select to migrate to RAID1, it warns me that it will initialise the array, which I do not want to do, I want to migrate the array.
Does the onboard array controller support array migration or expansion?

Solution
Greg, your right to stop. You do not wnat to initialize. The array will be formatted and all your data lost. If you can't back out and just rebuild at that point I think you are lost to backup and restore, or a third hard drive to get it done.

Re: ML330 ATA RAID MIGRATION
Greg....
Yes, it would need to "initialize" the array. With SCSI ACU it will say that and actually copy the bits from the good source disk to the new disk. I would assume the same would be true for ATA. Make sure you have a good backup and make sure you know in the software which is the original and which is the new drive. As long as you select the original drive first and the new drive second, it should work just fine...

Re: ML330 ATA RAID MIGRATION
Thanks for the quick responses chaps. As the server was still in the workshop, I rebuilt it anyway.
