ML330 G6 UPS

I have an ML330 G6 server with redundant 750W hot-plug power supplies. I would like some guidance on choosing a UPS correctly sized for this server and the two power supplies. The power draw seems to be quite high during boot up. How does the 750 watt PS rating (per supply unit) translate to an appropriate sized UPS? I only need 3-5 minutes of run-time if power is lost. Thank you.

Re: ML330 G6 UPS

Hi,

The server has the following UPS options:

HP Tower UPS:

T750 G2, T1000 G3, T1500 G3

HP Rack-mountable UPS:

R1500 G3, R/T3000 G2, R5000 and R7000 Uninterruptible Power Systems

T750 G2 has a rated power output of 750VA/500W

T1000 G3 has a rated power output of 1000VA/670W

T1500 G3 has a rated power output of 1400VA/950W

You may refer to this URL for the above information under section "Technical Specifications".

For HP R1500 G3 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) refer to this URL under section "UPS Model Matrix".

For HP R/T3000 G2 Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) refer to this URL under section "Model Matrix".

For R5000 Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) refer to this URL under section "UPS Model Matrix".

For R7000 Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) refer to this URL under section "UPS Model Matrix".

From the requirements that you have stated, it appears that models T1500 G3 and R1500 G3 would cover requirements at the minimum. Please review the QuickSpecs links provided above to make appropriate decision.

Regards,

Vijayasarathy
