ML350 G3 Red Led

ML350 G3 has the 2nd led red. It reboots over and over. I have exchanged multiple parts from another working ml350 and no change. Any suggestions?

Re: ML350 G3 Red Led

2nd LED from left ?

Starting from the left to right you have:

1)Unit ID Button
Off=System off
Blue=Identification
Flashing Blue=Remote console

2) Internal health
Off=System off
Green=System on, AC power available
Amber=System degraded
Red=System critical

3) External health
Off=System off
Green=System on, AC power available
Amber=System degraded (most commonly due to redundant power supply failure)
Red=Power supply failed

You have not mentioned which all parts have u replaced.

Is there any AMBER/RED LED on the systemboard ?
Look particularly near the processor.

How many processors u have in there ?
try swapping & booting with one processor..in case u got 2 in there.
whats the memory config ?
try booting with minimum memory.

Cheers !

Re: ML350 G3 Red Led

Thank you for the speedy reply! The 2nd from the left. I have swapped cpus, memory, and power. I did see a red light next to the cpu2 error light on the motherboard and removed that cpu to see if it would boot. It did boot, however and few minutes later the server rebooted and and the red light came back. Thanks!

Re: ML350 G3 Red Led

Sounds like the PPM.. Processor Power Module has failed.

Wouldnt the server stay up with just one CPU ?

try swapping CPU to confirm PPM failure.

PPM for CPU 1 is integrated..(Cant recall.. time to sleep)

& ya... call support!!!
Cheers !

Re: ML350 G3 Red Led

It stayed up longer with only one of the CPUs in the beginning. Now it is acting like it did with both in.
