I have installed a IDE Hard Drive for backup. The Hard drive is A WEstern Digital 200 Go.
The hard is recognized only with 128 Go capacity (Windows 2000 Server).
I cannot configure the hard drive in the compaq Setup (F9 on boot).
Thanks for your help

Re: ML350 G3 and IDE Hard Drive
Hello Petry,
I had a similar issue where I ended up partitioning my HDD. For some odd reason Windows recoganizes 128xxxxx capacity only. I ended up using partition magic to get to the full capacity.
I hope this helps.

Petry
fyi "NOTE: IDE Controller
The server's IDE controller only supports the CDROM. IDE disk drives are not supported.
"
I think you were lucky to get 128GB.
I would NOT reply on an IDE hard drive connected via the server's IDE controller for Backup (if it all goes wrong HP/Compaq won't dig you out of the mess.
If you care about the data, use an HP/Compaq supported backup solution (eg Tape, extra Disks etc. etc..)
Sorry to giver unwelcome advice

Re: ML350 G3 and IDE Hard Drive
Hello Peter,
I tried the 200GB with maxtor IDE controller and it picked up the full capacity in first shot. Therefore, you might want to try the add on IDE controller.
Good Luck!!
