ML350 G3 crashes randomly with event ID 6008

Event ID is in Windows Server 2003, no additional information.

SMH shows for Memory "nothing," given that we don't have HP-branded memory in the server.

The log shows: Uncorrectable Memory Error (System Memory, Memory Module 1) or (System Memory, Memory Module 2) right before the ASR makes the server reboot.

The weird thing is that this happens only to one of our two ML350s, the other ML350 also has non-HP RAM in it too.

Any suggestions how to deal with this??
The only thing we've found on this forum that might possibly help is to clear the NVRAM and re-configure the BIOS.

if the ARS if before the memory Error what you can you is:

- reseat the memory module on that server

- swap memory modules between server so will find out if memory modules are bad or the slot (system board)

- update firmware CD

The memory error happens before the ASR.

We've already reseated the memory and swapped memory around and updated to the latest firmware.

Hi,

sorry to inform you, but maybe since the memory is not HP-branded this error messages can appear on the other server too.
You can update the System ROM and clear NVRAM, but this will maybe not solve your problem..

have yo try one module at a time?

what if swap modules between servers?

I think we've lost track of what memory got swapped around etc. etc.

We hadn't thought of swapping RAM between servers, though. We may try this.

We have the exact same problem in a Proliant ML350 G3. First thought memory was defective, exchanged it for a pair of new ones (non-HP), same thing happens.

Did you happen to solve the problem somehow?

No, because we don't use the MLs anymore, replaced them with a new phyical server and virtual servers.
