ML350 G3 will not stay shutdown from a Win2K invoked shutdown

We have two new ML350 G3 servers running Win2K. Whenever we shutdown the server from within Windows, it shuts down and powers off for a couple of seconds, but then powers up again and boots windows.

This situation is fine for those who want a server to reboot after a power cut, but ours will be on a UPS. In a power failure the UPS will instruct the server to gracefully shut down but it will come back up just in time for the power from the UPS to fail and crash it.

Any ideas?

Hi Jon,

Thanks for that. The problem went away when I disabled PXE boot.

and here was me thinking i'd got an answer and you go and find the solution by yourself! :)

seriously though, i had the same problem for a while and managed to pin it down to the wake on LAN option.

well done on finding it yourself though.
