Re: ML350 G4 Raid 5 to Raid 5 migration
Why have an Exchange server for 10 people. Most get their mail hosted with that few on it. Exchange can be expensive to upgrade and maintain. I could be cheaper in the long run to get mail hosted.
We have 48 Employees. We had 1 server to start. It was Novell. The drives failed. We built 3 servers and distributed applications and data so we were not completely down, if a server crashed. Now we have two Active Directory servers, two SQL Servers for 31 databases. The Exchange server has Exchange, Quest Archive Manager to archive messages from Exchange, and Blackberry Enterprise server. Microsoft wants two AD servers in case one fails. Exchange and SQL should be separate because they tend to hog resources. My next upgrade is a HP C7000 Blade Center to start a DR site with active to active SAN. We have a HP MSA 2012fc SAN that we added 3 years ago. Four servers boot from SAN. It makes replacing servers easy.
