ML350 G4 Win SBS 2003 R2 cpqcissm.sys install error
We are trying to carry out a fresh install of Windows 2003 SBS R2 on our Proliant ML350 G4 Server.
The process we have followed so far is:
Updated the firmware for the System BIOS and the RAID array to the latest available.
Using the latest SmartStart CD:
Erased the HDD's contents and setup new partitions for Win2003.
Selected the correct Windows OS from the list (Windows 2003 SBS R2).
Inserted the Windows DVD when requested.
The files were then copied across and the DVD removed as requested as the server rebooted.
After the reboot the Windows setup continued and displayed:
CPQCISSM.sys Could not be loaded.
Error code 4
The install is then halted.
We have followed this procedure twice and had exactly the same results.
From a little searching it appears this is a driver file for the RAID array.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: ML350 G4 Win SBS 2003 R2 cpqcissm.sys install error
Hi Ben,
What is the RAID controller that is being used in the server?
See if this document helps you understand the installation of Windows 2003 R2 on proliant servers.
