Hi everyone,
I have a ML350 G4p that actually its working with 2GB of RAM (4 Modules of 512MB in A and B banks)
Now i buy 2 modules of 512MB and i want to install it in the banks C. When i do that he server send me an error of "Mistmatch configuration" and only see 2GB not 3GB.
I saw in the quickspecs page of the server that the server only supports 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB..not 3GB(6 x 512MB)
Can any one tell me if its true.. or the server has a board problem..
Best Regards,
Bye

Solution
Hi,
Even though the memory configuration never shows that 3 GB is supported on the server, yet I believe that the issue is related to Dual Rank Dimms.
When the server is booted with bank A and B Dual Rank Dimms the server works fine. But it does not work the same way with the Bank C. Please check the section "Installing maximum memory" in the following link:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12199_div/12199_div.HTML#Memory
Thus it seems that if all DIMM slots are being populated then the DIMM's should be single rank.
Please try single rank DIMM's from any other server to this server and check.
Take care
Aman
