ML350 G5 Onboard E200i RAID

The ML350 G5 I just picked up has the E200i SAS RAID controller built in. The battery on it is bad, so I picked up a P400 controller for a good price. Is there any way to disable the E200i? I 've tried removing the battery/cache module, but that results in it just hanging at initializing the E200i.

I've removed the bad battery from the memory module and re-installed the module and it boots, so worst case I guess I could deal with that, but idelaly, I'd rather disable the E200i entirely.

onboard controllers cannot be disabled as their is no logical drive configured and you cannot enter onboard controllers post as well if logical drive is configured as well

Re: ML350 G5 Onboard E200i RAID

Hi,

Just to say that I have done the exact same thing as you. Adding P400 to ML350 G5 with E200i.

I've not found a way to disable the E200i either and the server doesn't like it when the BBWC is removed.

P400 are great controllers and it offers a massive performance boost compared to the E200. Smart move I say!
