ML350 G5 RAID problems after adding more RAM
We have an ML350 G5 server with 4x2GB FBDIMMs. We purchased another pair of 2GB FBDIMMs to install.
There are 2 RAID mirrors. 1 has SAS drives and the problemsome one is 2x500GB SATA drives.
When the new modules are installed, the second RAID set fails. We can boot into Windows (SBS 2008) but we only have the first RAID set.
Removing the new modules fixes the problem.
Replacing 1 set of the old modules with the new modules allows the server to startup as normal.
The problem only occurs when adding more than 8GB of RAM.
Any ideas?
