ML350 G5: systems shuts down automatically because of missing fan (SIM)

hello,
i have a ML 350 G5 running Novell SLES 10 SP1 64bit. I installed the managment agent using the PSP Deployment Utility, PSP 7.80. The system has just one cpu. Problem is that the agent blaims about the missing fan for the second cpu (which is logically because i have just one cpu)and shuts down the system automatically 60s after boot. :-(

excerp from the log:
--------------------------------------
hpasmlited[4585]: CRITICAL: System Fan Removed (Fan 6, Location CPU)
hpasmlited[4585]: A System Reboot has been requested by the management processor in 60 seconds.
hpasmlited[5701]: A System Reboot has been initiated by the management processor.
--------------------------------------
How can i tell the agent that i have just one cpu and i don't need the fan for the 2nd cpu.
Thanks
Bernd

Re: ML350 G5: systems shuts down automatically because of missing fan (SIM)

hello,

found the solution myself:
man hpasm says:

-------------
...
Supported Management Features
The following is a list of features supported by the hpasmd application:

Monitoring abnormal temperature conditions
If the normal operating temperature is exceeded, or a cooling fan fails, the hpasmd application does the following;

* Displays a message to the console and to the /var/log/messages file stating the problem

* Makes an entry in the Integrated Management Log (IML).

==> * Shuts the system down (optionally) to avoid hardware damage. Use the HP ProLiant ROM Based Setup (System Configuration) Utility (RBSU) to control the option.
...
---------------

the marked entry (==>) helped me. I switch off the option in the RPSU to shutdown the server, everythings working fine now.
