ML350 G5 upgrade Server 2008 to Server 2008 R2 suggestions?

I want to do an upgrade from Server 2008 Standarad 2008 x64 to Server 2008 Enterprise R2 and am looking for a white paper, instructions or whatever.

Do I just run upgrade on my win dvd then reinstall the R2 PSP 8.30 for R2?

Do I need to remove or disable anything before I start the process? I assume I remove MS One-Care

I assume that all my computer and user accounts make it through the process intact?

okay here we goooo.. :)

hmmmm, r2 can be made to work but has issues use firmware cd 8.6 boot ogf it take all firmwares for this server ensurte you remove any extra cards when doing this , its a long story,

now install 2008 r2 ,

when done reboot install psp pack and updates away you go now add the extras one at a time and the drivers too,,

if any issues arise boot of psp cd and run full diagnostics

Re: ML350 G5 upgrade Server 2008 to Server 2008 R2 suggestions?

All firmware, BIOS etc is up to date.

Looking at the ML 350 R2 software drivers page I don't see anything special that is a different version than that for Server 2008 x64.

HP says the ML350 G5 works fine with Server 2008 R2. So I'm not sure why you say there are firmware issues... Anything specific?

Have you update an 2008 x64 version to R2 yourself?
