Hi,

Old post but like to share my solution:

 

I had tihis issue for a long time. Symptoms:

On restart of server 9 out of 10 times the server repported Controller error for E200i on Boot screen.

Updated all SAS drives:

 

Slot    Drive                              Installed FW

1          EH0146FAWJB           HPDJ

2          EH0146FAWJB           HPDJ

3           

4          EG0300FBDBR           HPDA

5          EG0300FAWHV          HPDF

6          EG0300FBVFL            HPDC

 

Also updated Controller FW to 1.86

 

What exactly of these steps that solved the issue is not known for me, but my recommendation would be to upgrade accordingly to the table above.
