ML350 G6 Network Problem

I have just loaded SCO 507 onto the above.
Running P400 array with Dat160 and 3 x 72GB disks attached.
I have loaded service Pacl MP5 (SCO), the latest "WD" driver and "HPSAS".
I am having a problem after intalling the Broadcom network driver.
I have tried to use their diagnostic package to disable "ASF", but after booting with this CD, then taking the first opion FreeDos
then second , Install to HD.
The screen comes back saying it cannot find the CDROM or no CD-ROM installed.
This is driving me nuts. This is the only thing left on this system to finalize on.
Help Please

Re: ML350 G6 Network Problem

hi,

maybe there is a problem with the detecting your cd-rom, because your cd/dvd rom is connected to the SATA interface, maye you could try to set the SATA to PATA emulation.

Re: ML350 G6 Network Problem

I have given up on the internal NIC's so have installed an Intel PRO 1000 CT PCI Express card.
Installed the drivers for it and configured it.
No errors and came up fine.
It can ping itself, but cannot telnet out to any other machine. Or any other machine on the network can ping or telnet.
I have in in SLOT 5 and like I say no errors.
If I unplug it it says link is down , link is up when put back in.
HELP!

Re: ML350 G6 Network Problem

Now it looks like the problem is not the server network hardware. You have to look elsewhere.
Is the network interface configured within the OS?
It can ping itself with which IP? the loopback or the network IP?
Is there a gateway configured in the server and can you ping the gateway?
Where is the network connected?
Is there a firewall in the server or on the network side?

Re: ML350 G6 Network Problem

I have set it as 10.254.0.126, I can ping the sever and the local host 127.0.0.1.

I have attached it on a separate hub with another server for testing.
Other server is 10.254.0.189, I cannot ping it, or telnet.
Can only ping to my local machine.
I have disabled the 2 NIC's in the bios just in case.
There is no gateway or firewall.
This HP machine is driving me up the wall.

Re: ML350 G6 Network Problem

You should be able to ping in the hub without a gateway.

What about the other server? Can you ping from it?

Check for IP filtering and firewall within the SCO server. I have not worked with SCO so I don't know where you would check.

Check the OS network settings with the ifconfig command.
