ML350 G6 - Removable HDD enclosure caused server to power down.

Hello all - looking for a bit of guidance.
My new ML350 G6 (750watt power supply) powers off immediatly when I turn the key on the dataport (brand http://www.cru-dataport.com/products/DataPort-30.php) external hdd enclosure - this is when the hdd within the bay would power up - it does draw/connect to the internal power supply. What happens is the power light turns amber and health led flashes red (system critical). Are the new high effeciency power supplies very "sensitive" to an unexpected increase in power consumption? I've seen this setup many times having recently left a IT solution provider (company)that sold the same setups. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have one or two power supplies in your server? It is possible that the initial draw of your disk is very high and there is not enough power for the server. Specially if you only have one power supply.

Check is if you have the latest firmware in you server and its components.

Also use the power advisor to check if your power supply has enough power for your server including all its components and the add-on dataport.
