ML350 G6 and V2i Protector 2.04

I purchased a new ML350 G6 with Windows 2003 Server. My problem is the lack of a floppy drive on it. V2i Protector loads drivers for the NIC and RAID through the floppy drive. I have attempted to load the drivers into the iso I have created, but run into this issue. The HP drivers use an exe file rather than a text.OEM file. Is there a way to obtain an text.oem file for these drivers so they may load from the V2i Protector boot disk under PORE?

No, I have not tried the drive key. I have tried other flash drives though. V2i only will load drivers through the A drive with no browse option. I was able to add and load the NIC drivers in the bootable ISO of V2i, but for some reason I am unable to load the driver for the Smart Array P410 RAID Controller. Even though I placed it in the same driver location where I placed the NIC driver.

Will the drive key make V2i believe that it is Drive A so I could load the driver with it when asked? V2i works exactly like windows install disk when it comes to loading drivers. You know, F6.

It has a "floppy" switch that is supposed to emulate one... so it will act as a floppy when inserted into a servers USB port.

You install the driver you need from your workstation in the "floppy" partition and then insert it into the server... then, enjoy less hair loss!

John,
Thanks for all your information. I found out that the HP floppy USB drive is no longer made and out of stock in all of the links I found.

I wish I could create my own that would allow the F6 key to load drivers. Oh well!

Re: ML350 G6 and V2i Protector 2.04

I googled the key and there just may be some vendors with 'stock' worth giving a phone call to to determine if they have it on their shelves.
G'luck!
Enjoy!
