ML350 G9 UEFI Won't boot to 2012R2 CD or USB

Hello,

This is my firts installation of a G9 serie. I would like to boot in UEFI mode with a generic 2012 R2 iso. 

I use Win DVD Usb Tool to create a USB drive.

First try = no boot. 

So I test my USB device to a another UEFI PC (Asus Laptop) = UEFI Boot OK

Second Try, I burn my 2012R2 iso on a DVD = No boot

Why the server won't boot to my UEFI devices ?

Is there a tips ?

I'm having the same issue

USB support is enabled, it will boot in Legacy Bios mode but not in UEFI Bios mode. I must be missing something somewhere.

First make sure you are running BIOS

You likely need a boot media with legacy AND UEFI boot files, not sure if your tool can provide this.

I have the same issue with my ML350 gen9 server and windows 2012 x64

When i am trying to boot for the first time to install windows OS with UEFI an error appears that "no uefi boot media found".

When i am triyng to boot without UEFI, it recognize my usb stick with windows server 2012 but when i am reaching the step of installation it can not see any hard disks.

I am trying to load the driver for the SSA b140 (storage controller) but it still can not see any disks!

I tried both with SSA RAID 1 and without SSA.

My bios FW is 1.4 (June 2015).

Im having the same issue here on a DL360 Gen9, 2 days on this now trying various ways to get it to boot. If I run the provisioner it crashes out partway through the Server 2012 R2 install and if I try and boot manually I need to run Legacy mode to boot and then it cant see the HDDs. Terrible on HPs part this... All firmware is upto date as of now and still no joy... Come on HP whats the answer???

Additional info: My USB stick does contain UEFI boot files (efi/boot/bootx64.efi) and does boot from other PCs.

I had the same problem, and I booted the server and pressed F10 (Intelligent Provisioning).
Follow the guide and have a USB ready with you’re OS-ISO file (Windows/VMware and so on...)

Now HP Intelligent Provisioning will update you’re servers firmware and the install you’re OS (with UEFI) and all the necessary drivers.

Not working for me either. I have the latest firmware and downloaded the 2012R2 Datacenter .ISO

No dice. Won't boot under any circumstances. Tried the legacy boot. Tried a different USB port. Nothing. Intelligent Provisioning doesn't work with a DHCP or Static IP address. I'm embarrassed for HP. All of these "new" features and nothing works. Very frustrating. I am running the HPDL580G9 servers. I have two to build out and we can't even get the OS installed. This is day one. If nothing changes Monday we're placing a support call. Something is very wrong with this firmware.

I was able to figure it out on my own. The firmware is now updated and the OS is now booting properly.

The resolution was using a different disk utlity to burn the DVD.
