ML350 Hard Drives
Hi,
I am about to purchase an ML350 G5 and have a question reguarding the hot swap hard drive bays.
My budget doesn't allow me to purchase HP drives as they are 4 times the price of normal SATA drives. Does this mean that the hot swap bays will be unuseable? Is it possible to purchase caddies for these bays to enable me to use standard SATA drives?
I have also heard that warranty becomes an issue if not using HP drives?
If not how many internal drive bays does the ML350 have?
Thanks in advance for the responses.

Re: ML350 Hard Drives
The ML350 G5 supports up to 8 hot-plug SATA drives:

When you are not using HP brand drives you will not be able to get support on any local storage - related issues as the problem may be traceable to the drives themselves.
If you choose to use non-HP drives you will likely have to purchase those with identical form factors or else you will not have anywhere to plug them in.
Good luck!
