ML350 Missmatched DIMM

ML350 Missmatched DIMM

In the ML350 GEN4p, there are currently 4 dimms installed (total of 3GB.) I have put 2x 1GB, DDR2, ECC DIMMS in (these two are identical), but it comes up with a missmatched DIMM error.

Any ideas?

are the 2 new DIMMS identical to the other 4 DIMMS?

same spare/option number?

I think this may be the issue!

The original RAM is DDR2 400Mhz, CL3, ECC, Registered, whereas the new RAM is DDR2 677Mhz, CL5, ECC.

The new RAM should run ok at 400mhz and clock down to CL3, however I think the mix of Registered and None-Registered RAM which is causing the issue?
