ML350 hard disk upgrade.
If you buy a SCSI disk, do you get the necessary cables? According to the server spec it has capacity for six 1-inch hot-plug hard disks.
Link:
http://www.artaneonline.com/product_info.p...99edc8b93de29a8
Will this hard disk do the job and is this a good price?
The server has an integrated dual channel ultra SCSI controller, there is currently two disks installed so I assume I need to purchase another controller. What type of controller do I need to purchase and how do you fit it?
Any other help on purchasing and installing would be of a great help.

Re: ML350 hard disk upgrade.
which generation of ML350 you have (G1,G2,G3,G4)?
Your link is broken,
but generally speaking HP support only HP approved parts in the server.
See this document if you have G4 server
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00420247#N1016A
In "Hard Drives" part you can find Option part number for SCSI drives.
You do not need any cabels to install SCSI drive, you already have drive cage connected to SCSI controller.

Dual channel SCSI controller doesn't mean you can connect only two SCSI drives.
Your drive cage already connected to one of the SCSI channels and you can use all 6 SCSI drives in the cage.

Re: ML350 hard disk upgrade.
If the Server has capacity for six 1-inch hot-plug hard disks and the Hard Drive you are buying is a hot plug, the cable should not be required as you already have two disks installed in the server.I presume they are working.
What is the server model ?

Re: ML350 hard disk upgrade.
Thank you both for your replies. The model number is a G3. I will be making a purchase from the UK. I'm not sure of the connector type. Will one of these be compatible with this server?

Re: ML350 hard disk upgrade.
Try to use only HP approved drives, use HP part numbers from this link:
