ML350 maximum hard drives

Hi, we're upgrading our ML350 (ML350T01 P733) servers and I'd like to put in the maximum hard drives that the Smart Array 221 controller can hold. The most I can find is an old manual that says the maximum supported size is 18.2 GB (currently have 9.1 GB drives). Does anyone know if maybe a firmware upgrade might up the max to above the 18.2 limit?

Re: ML350 maximum hard drives

I do not see native support for greater than 18GB drives.

Here is the ROMPaq for the 221, you need disk 1:

Maybe this will add the support you need. not 100% sure though
Enjoy!

Re: ML350 maximum hard drives

The 221 is a U2 controller, u2,u3 and u320 drives are interchangeable so you could even use a u320 drive - that should take you to a 140Gb (hot plug) drive!!
ThereтАЩs your problem!!! This thing is set to EVIL!
