I have an old ml350 server which is running a single slot 1 600mhz processor. I was wondering about a couple of things which i can't seem to find any documentation for.
firstly what is the specific memory these machines take as standard 133 dimms don't seem to work???
2ndly does any one know what processors i can put into this machine and where i could find them?
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.
many thanks
James

Re: ML350 memory
It was hard to find a onestop shop for your request as you did not mention the generation of your Proliant ML350. I had to guess a bit and I found this very comprehensive specification type document, clik on specific peripherals and it brings a descripion and compatibility details.
Hope you would enjoy this one.
Have fun and don't forget to assign points:)

Re: ML350 memory
usually the server models does not accept standard DIMMs, because the server RAMs are generally ECC and have spd on it. this might be the case for your server. You should ask HP / other vendors who make RAMs for HP server standards, for the RAM you want to install on your server.

Re: ML350 memory
Just in case there is any confusion.
Your system board only supports up to 2GB of memory (4 X 512Mb dimms) and a 933Mhz CPU.
The details listed for the 1Ghz CPU and 4Gb of memory relate to the 1Ghz ML350 G1 model which has a different system board to your one. Sorry if the document was misleading in any way.

Brian
