ML350E GEN8 Drive Bay Power

I have recently bought an ML350e GEN8 (single CPU, 96GB RAM) and have the addition P420I Controller. This controller is now the primary boot controller and all six bays are filled.

I want to use the onboard B120 and have the 8PIN Power Cord from the additional 6LFF Drive Kit. Where do I connect this too as the System Board only has one socket for the 8PIN and is in use. The other 8PIN from the PSU is going to the new 6FF Backplane.

Do HP sell a splitter of some sorts?

Thanks,

Kevin

I believe that I have found the solution.

I think that you need to upgrade to a RPS solution with the RPS enabler kit (under power in quickspecs) also you'll need a 460W common RPS too

Don't quote me on it, I'll get back to you when/if I can confirm this (ordering in the parts as we speak)

Why HP haven't put this information in Quickspecs I don't know.

The solution is to purchase the RPS enabler kit (& a power supply) & install, there is provision for your 2nd drive cage power cable. Part number: 664046-b21
