ML350G3 hangs and ASR occurs
Hello,
I have problem with ML350G3 server.
When server doing backup during the night using Ultrium-2 SCSI tape drivers (internal version) and UltraBac software on Windows 2003 Standard R2, sometime (sometimes, day after day) it's hangs and ASR occurs.
From logs:
- PCI Bus Error (Slot 0, Bus 0, Device 5, Function 0)
- ASR Detected by System ROM
- POST Error: A Critical Error occurred prior to this power-up
I have checked by 3rd party software what is on this device:
Property Value
DeviceDesc HP ProLiant Advanced System Management Controller
Property Value
LocationInformation PCI bus 0, device 5, function 0
I have upgraded all firmware for this machine what was available, also the scsi controller and tape drive.
If someone suspect what can be wrong, please let me know. Thanks in Advance.

Re: ML350G3 hangs and ASR occurs
If the internal tape drive connects to a PCI SCSI controller then try that controller on a different PCI Slot. Or else run offline diags using the SmartStart CD.
Sometimes a Loser Wins!!
