ML350G3 serial number not displayed in hpsmh

I have one ML350G3 currently with PSP7.51 / w2k3, which doesn't display the server serial number in hp system management home page. I've updated the psp couple times between different 7.x versions, no change. Any idea, why the serial is not being displayed.

Is the serial number visible in the F9 - ROM based setup utility?

Probably you did an NVRAM reset or removed the sysboard battery, so that wipes the SN info, the way to fix it is going to the Rom Based Setup Utility(RBSU) trough the F9 option the go to advanced and serial number, disregard the message and enter the serial you got in your chassis, when you boot up the serial # might take awhile to appear as the agents need to refresh.

I only have remote connection to the server and no RILOe2, so I can't check the RBSU settings. I am not aware that any hardware repairs etc. have been done to the server, which could have caused mb change / reset to nvram.
