ML350G5, Memory Issue

Hi, we have a ML350G5 server. We installed windows server 2008 enterprise edition 32bit. We recently add 9G RBRAM to speed up this server. The BIOS can recognize all the RAM and the windows can also see all the RAM. But when we open the task manager, it only shows 3.5G ram are using at moment. Any idea why we can't use all the RAM, do we need to do some change in the BIOS?
Thanks for any help!

hey pctroubleshooter,

you need a 64-bit version of 2008 EE to fully address the 9 GB RAM.

ah enterprise edition, sorry. that should work normally up to 64 gb of ram.

Did you add the /pae command in the boot.ini ?

Re: ML350G5, Memory Issue

to boot the system and utilize PAE memory, the /PAE command must be added to the corresponding entry in the boot.ini file. if a problem should arise, use safe sode. in safe mode the system will boot using the normal kernel (support for only 4 GB of RAM) even if the /PAE comman is part of the
boot.ini file.

Re: ML350G5, Memory Issue

I don't understand is that if 32bit win8K EE support up to 32G ram, why we have to add /PAE to boot.ini file.

If we know we need to do something for 32bit win8k ee, we will install 64bit from the begining.

anyway, many thanks for all the replies!
