ML350G5 Power Up problem
I have a ML350 G5 server (rack) and it is exhibiting a very odd power fault.
We have replaced the hot swap PSU already.
The system has been restarted, moved to a workbench and is on a different power socket & lead.
From the "HP Proliant ML350 Generation 5 Server Maintenance and Service Guide" pp73
The front panel
SYSTEM POWER LED is GREEN
INTERNAL HEALTH LED is flashing RED
EXTERNAL HEALTH LED (Power supply) is flashing RED
We have changed the PSU and no improvement.
Following the Internal health diagnosis on pp 78-81
LED6 (AC Power) is green (on and functioning)
No other LEDs indicated on the diagram are illuminated.
HOWEVER
Next to LED12 (Optional Redundant System Fan 2) and LED13 (System Fan 1) is the plug in block for the system fan that blows down onto the RAM sockets.
Aroudn the edge is another block of LEDs and some of these illuminate briefly when the system is powered up and then go out, but two of them remain illuminated and flashing.
I've attached a snapshot of the LEDs and as you can see the FAN LEDs are off but there are these two extra ones on (they flash about 1/sec but slightly out of step with each other).
The FANs are not running (they don't run at all).
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Re: ML350G5 Power Up problem
UPDATE:
Have found that the LED#8 (PPM2) was amber, but was hidden under the cables going to the drive cage.
Will try that to start with.

Re: ML350G5 Power Up problem
Hi,
If PPM2 has red led then the issue could be with that ppm or system board.
Take a look at this doc.

Good Luck,
Thank You!
