I picked up the ML350p Gen8 server at work when they upgraded. They took everything out of it of course. So I am putting it back together. I noticed that the "I.T." guy (who is a contract company guy) was none to careful about taking out the cpu they had installed. Looks he bent socket pins. The second socket was unused for CPU 2.
I am wondering if it is possible just to use CPU 2 since that socket looks good. Or is it a must that CPU 1 must be installed? I have been looking but have not found an answer on the issue. Thanks for any help with my question as it would be appreciated.

Re: ML350p Gen8 Motherboard CPU socket issue
Pretty much what I was thinking. So parting it out then will be the answer. Glad I only put 30 into it...
