ML370 Fan Noise

Hello. I've got an ML370 G1 and have installed Centos 4.4 on it. It's all working fine apart from one thing, the fans run at full speed all the time. I've looked on the HP support site but it seems the G1 was only supported up to RHEL 2.1. Basically I'd like to know if there's a way of getting the fan drivers to work under Centos(RHEL4)??
I've read around and it seems it's got something to do with the hprsm and hpasm packages. I've tried installing these rpms from the last supported psp but to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
