ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

hello, I have a problem with my fan, they always turn to the maximum I read the others post forum but no success. I work under Windows 2003 and Anciennement Compaq Proliant ML370 (Tower) 733Mhz 128SDR ECC. Thank you very much. Marty

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

Hi Marty,

-- Does the fan spin at high speed after you work for a few minutes or does the fan spin at high speed as soon as the server turns ON?
-- Does this issue occur when you work on any particular application?
-- There is an option in BIOS to set the speed of the fan to low/high

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

Hi Marty,

Install the Proliant Support Pack from the following link.

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23837.html

The System Management and Health drivers will then slow the fan down when the drivers are loaded at boot time.

I hope this helps.

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

hi,
- the fan spin always high speed at turns on the server!
- the fan spin never @ slow!

- I don't enter to bios (i don't know?),
i see only "F10 System utilities"
and into, there isn't anything for fan.

-------
I have already to install this pack but its does not function. In "HP Management", I see "Model: unknow ", its would not be the good pack?

thank you for help
(i'm sorry for my english)

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

Marty,

Do you have SNMP running OK as a service?

The HP Agents need this for sending event traps.

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

Marty,

Check this link too. Setting the SNMP community string resolved a similar issue.

I hope this helps.

Re: ML370 (Fan speed) Driver Health ?

hello,
i read other post for SNMP settings, and Re-Setting SNMP (i accept all packet from any)
and now i have "System Model : Null"
et in "Environment" =>
=>>Thermal Degraded Action:
>>>>>Continue
>>>>>Shut Down
<<< Set [Button]<<<<
=>> Overall Thermal and Fan Status:
>>>> N/A
--------------------------
i click Set[button] but i have Message Box
"the Set attempt failed. there are several possible reasons for this so happen. Performing sets requires that a community string with set access be present on the system. Sets must be enabled in the HP Management Agents. to reboot the system, reboot must be explicitly enabled in the HP Management Agents"
--------------------------
thank you for help
