ML370 G1 Installing 2nd processor

Hi all

After over a week of trying to rescue an array I've decided to erase the system and start again.

I also have a 2nd processor and voltage module ready to go in. However when I install it the POST gets to half way through the memory test and then shuts down only to restart about ten seconds later and then do the same....

Memory is also new (2GB) and works just fine with the single processor...

Do I have a faulty CPU/voltage module? Or is therer something else that U should be doing?

Re: ML370 G1 Installing 2nd processor

hi,

have you cheked for the stepping code of both CPUs? usually the stepping must be same in all processors installed in a multiprocessor system other than spped , cache , fsb & voltage. so, pl check for the same...

if you resolve the above thing, you have to go to the SCU and set CPU inside....

Hi

Thanks for this - I'm just in a middle of a rebuild on it now so will check on next reboot. (which shouldn't be too long!
