ML370 G1 install wireless NIC hangs

Hi,

I'm trying to install a wireless network card into an old Compaq ML370.
when installed the Compaq doesn't boot. nothing happens, no beeps, no screen nothing. only the fan.

Does anyone have an idea what to do to fix this?
