ML370 G2, SmartStart 5.30 does not give System Erase
I have one ML370 G2 1.3GHz PIII Server that requires an OS rebuild. Upon using SmartStart V5.30 it does not give the "System Erase" option. ??.
I have rebuilt many of other ML's and never had this issue.
Does anyone have any work arounds ??
Many Thanks,
Paul Taylor, IT Manager, Lo-Q Plc.

Re: ML370 G2, SmartStart 5.30 does not give System Erase
You should have a SmartStart 6.xx CD that came with your G2 server. This would allow you to "reconfigure" the server without needing to erase the existing configs.
In any case, should you need it, use the diskette version (ver. 1.70) of the System Erase Utility because it has more support for the later controllers and options than the 5.xx CD.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17918.html
One thing to note, the diskette version is not fully supported for the G2 and later models of ProLiant. That's not to say it will not work, only that HP would rather you use the later versions of the SmartStart CD such as the 6.xx & 7.xx versions.
G'luck! -john

Re: ML370 G2, SmartStart 5.30 does not give System Erase
I am still having the same problem with this one ML370 G2.
Even with the new SmartStart 7.10 i am still not getting the "System Erase" option.
So Please keep your ideas comming.
Thanks and Regards,
Paul Taylor.
