ML370 G3 hyperthreading

Does anyone know if I can turn off hyperthreading on a ML370 G3 in the BIOS? I have a client who's server keeps reporting two processors installed to NetWare 6 when in fact they only have one processor.

A Novell TID suggested turning off hyperthreading in a server's BIOS. Don't want to show up on site with no idea if this can be done or not.

Thanks,

Re: ML370 G3 hyperthreading

Hi Brent,

Enter the Rom-Based Setup Utility (RBSU) by pressing F9 at POST, before the system boots. Go down to Advanced Settings and select Hyperthreading. You can disable it here.

Brent:

Go into the RBSU (Hit F10)

Select Setup Utility
Select Advanced Options
Select Processor Hyper-Threading
Select Disabled
Hit F10 to Save
Hit F10 to Exit

G'luck!
Enjoy!

Re: ML370 G3 hyperthreading

Brent,

I've copied the hyperthreading configuration page from the RBSU User Guide to let you see what it looks like.
(See attached image)

You will see the F9 prompt screen just before the operating system loads. Press F9 and make the changes. Use the ESC key to get back to the main menu and again to exit. Press F10 when promoted to save the changes.

Regards,

Brian
