ML370 G3

We have purchase an Backup unit external Ultrium 460 but is not recognized even for the Bios in the Post.
I have run the HP Storawork soft and scanning elements only the DAT72 internal backup unit is detected. The two backup units has different ID and the external is connected to the ULtraScasi 3 Port of the serve.
Any idea??

Re: ML370 G3

Server has 2 channel UltraWide SCSI 3.
The external is connected with an special cable provide by HP to the unique port SCSI that match with this cable (I cannot see any port more)

I am thinking to disconnect the SDAT72 internal drive of the server although both devices have differents ID's.

Any help??

it's listed as supported
did you open ticket with HP
you can try to move over different channel (I guess internal tape drv connected to it now)
Verify Firmware for server System ROM

How you see ID by Post or Jumpers ? ( ...the two backup units has different ID ...)
Can you rotate cables between channels or pull one out temporarily

Re: ML370 G3

I have pulled the SDAT72 internal out and in the post any device is detected.

Also, I have connected the Ultrim ext. to the scsi port of the SmartArray but then the RAID doesn't start giving a 1785 error message.

HP does not know what happens.
I also changed the SCSI ID in the Ultrium in case had the same that the internal one but the result was the same.

I am very desperated...
