ML370 G5 Fan Issues

One of our customers has an Ml370 G5 server installed and it has been in use for the past 9 months. Recently the fans start to run at full speed and only return to normal state when the server is powered off, power unplugged, plugged back in and then started up. I have checked in the management console and all temps and fan speeds are normal. This seems to be happening more and more.

is this a fault with the server?

Re: ML370 G5 Fan Issues

Also noticed on shutdown of the server when the server 'turns off' the power supply fans stay on until the power lead is unplugged.

Re: ML370 G5 Fan Issues

Hi, what OS have you installed?

Do you have the proliant support pack installed?

Is a software control with the health driver that controls the fans while the OS is loaded.

Hi Robin,

Many threads on this subject for ML370 G5 have been posted here.

Could be P/S, firmware, drivers or thermal environment issues.

Re: ML370 G5 Fan Issues

thanks for the reply.

Reading through the thread you linked it sounds like a problem with the psu then. With the server being well under warranty how would I go about getting a replacement? :)

Many Thanks

Re: ML370 G5 Fan Issues

Call HP =)

You would probably have to go through the troubleshooting with them again though ;)
