ML370 G5 - SAS Drive Info Required.

I am looking to purchace a HP ProLiant ML370 G5 Performance - Dual-Core Xeon 5150 2.66 GHz (416619-031).

I have 2 questions.

1) Will the 431944-B21 or 431950-B21 drives work in this server?
2) What are the differances between the two drives?

Thanks.

Re: ML370 G5 - SAS Drive Info Required.

From what i am reading, it looks like the 416619-031 server uses 2.5" small form factor (SFF) drives.
Is the 3.5" drive going to fit into the server?

Looking here:-
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12244_na/12244_na.HTML

it looks as though HP only do a max of 146GB for the SFF drives.

Can somebody please confirm if I do indeed require the 2.5" drives and not the 3.5" for use with this server.

Re: ML370 G5 - SAS Drive Info Required.

This limits the total amount of storage by a considerable amount.

hmmm, I could get the option of a 411064-B21 HP Smart Array P400/512MB Controller with BBWC (I think this is the one that comes with the server) and a 401415-B21 SAS Drive Cage and fill all the bays with 146GB drives.

I would use bays 0 & 1 for mirroring the OS.
Bays 2 through to 16 would be filled with 146GB SFF drives in RAID 5.

What I don't know is, will I be able to create a RAID5 array across the two P400 controllers.

Will HP be bringing out 300GB SFF drive in the near future?
