ML370 Max HD size

I have an ML370 with a 5304/256 array controller.

What is the maximum disk size i can use with this ? - I am only adding disks to the internal connector.

Thanks

Re: ML370 Max HD size

If you have ML370 G1 then your max HDD is this:
72.8-GB Wide Ultra3 SCSI 10,000 rpm Drive [232432-B22]

Rgds.

Re: ML370 Max HD size

G2 or better, you can probably put in 300GB drives without any issues.

Re: ML370 Max HD size

Thanks all. As my ML370 is Compaq branded and beige in colour with 2x1GHz processors, I think that makes it a G1. So 70GB drives it is on that array controller.

Re: ML370 Max HD size

You can use 300 Gb without any problem

Re: ML370 Max HD size

So I am now intruiged. The onboard controller will support up to 72GB drives but the array controller will support the 300GB drives - good.

I've found this part number - is that correct?
350964-B22

It is a HP 300GB U320 scsi disk. Should any U320 disk work then?

Thanks

Re: ML370 Max HD size

Anthony,

I am pretty sure you can use 300 Gb drives for onboard SCSI controller as well.
Just ML370 G1 specifications not updated when new SCSI drives launched

Re: ML370 Max HD size

And yes, 350964-B22 is correct part number for 300 Gb U320 SCSI drive.
Of course it will work as Ultra3 and not U320 because SmartArray 5300 doesn't support U320
