ML370 Win2000 shutting down due to Environment Abnormality - High Temp on CPU

Am seeing a series of events in SysLog included below. An overheat is detected and EAAS is initiated, then all is OK again. It can do this a number of times and it usually happens at times of much disk activity, eg ESE running. (Exchange 2000 server in Win2K SP4, SmartStart 5.2).

Have had swapped out drives that seemed to show error.

Any ideas?

Did you ever get a solution on this? I'm having the same exact symptoms.

Re: ML370 Win2000 shutting down due to Environment Abnormality - High Temp on CPU

ASR events can be tricky to solve if the cause is not apparent.

First make sure you have the latest bios on the server and such:
This is the latest ML370G1 bios:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/20506.html

This is the latest PSP for installing all the health drivers and agents:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19613.html

If you have the HP diagnostics loaded, you can run the server through a full load of tests and see if the server bombs out on you. Then check the results for hardware failures and events.

You could look at the IML logs and see if the events were trigged by something detected on one of the sensors or if there are erronious records. Here is the IML viewer:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/20739.html

I hope this helps you diagnose what is causing the problems, let us know what you find.
