ML370 and Smart Array 3200

I cannot get the server to boot from the SA3200 controller. I have changed the boot order in the bios and still cannot to get it to detect any drives. I run the array config utility and it does not detect it.
When it post's I get a 1777 error SCSI port 1: I/O board responding with wrong SCSI ID

Hello Brad,
Please try by moving the SA3200 to a different slot. If not then clear NVRAM first and then give it a try. You can clear NVRAM by going in F10 and then invoke the advanced mode by holding down the CTRL key and Hit "A". Run system configuration and Clear NVRAM is located under Advanced features.

Hi,
do you have properly cable installed betwen RAID controller and Drive Cage ?
Recently I have seen cable with terminator installed there and it was not work ... terminator is not allowed on the cable,because terminating is provided by drive cage and controller.

Also check the scsi cable for a bended pin or damage

I have been able to update the firmware of the 3200 to the latest (v4.5). This gets rid of the SCSI errors, but I still cannot get the ACU to see the card.
I am using SmartStart 6.4 and 6.3 with no luck. These are brand new ML370 G3's and it is happening on two of them. I have tried to change the card from slot 1, slot 2 and slot 6 with no luck.
As far as the cable goes. I took it off the onboard SCSI and attached it to the SA3200.
I have also removed the 2 GigE adapters and the 2 Fiber HBA's so this is the ONLY card in a PCI slot.
I have also erased the NVRAM with no luck.
Is there an offline ACU for the SA3200?

I wonder if the 3200 can work in the ML370G3 at all.
The ML370G3 has all pci-x slots which only support 3,3 Volt.
The 3200 controller needs 3,3 and 5 volt i believe.

I figured it out!!!!

I re-booted to SmartStart 6.2 CD and was able to get it to see the controller and configure the drives.

Ok.... I got excited when I got the drive configured, but with the ACU, but now smart start (any version 6.2,6.3,6.4) does not see the array to start the install.

This May seem obvious, but you do realise that you use the ROM-Based Setup Ulility (RBSU) to configure the RAID don't you?
