ML370 dead

I just got back a ML370 from manufacturing site and it won't power up. Has 3 redundant power supplies, when plugged in the fans kick on (on the power supplies) but no LED's light up and when the power button is depressed the LED just flashes dim and fast. It's been a long time since I have done hardware I was wondering if the battery on the mother board could be bad. Any ideas where to start?

Re: ML370 dead

If this server was "Shipped" it is likely that something just came loose inside.

Do any of the LED's on the front come on AMBER in color?

First thing to check is that the power supplies are all seated firmly or screwed down.

Next, remove the top cover and make sure the processors and RAM are all seated well. Check the PCI Cards (if any) that they are fully seated in the slots.

Next, look for loose cables such as power or signal cabling. Check the cables running to and from the storage devices.

After that, make sure all the fans are seated well.

I guess you see where I am going with this... check to see if anything has come loose.

Enjoy!

Yes, re-seated everthing then removed just about everything but the processor and the RAM tried again still nothing...so removed ram etc.. still same results.
The lights on the front I think the farthest one to the left is the power indicator, it just flashes real fast and dim...
on the power supplies the LED's also do not light up.

Re: ML370 dead

You do have this plugged in, right? I am kidding. ;-)

The LED you are looking at is the LED for the NIC... it flashes like that when the cable is plugged in and has activity.

If you are not getting LED's on the power supplies, then there must be some trouble with the power supplies themselves or the power backplane board.

Try removing all but one power supply from the rear of the server? Any change?

Next, take a look at the connections on the Power Backplane Board:
