ML370, new mobo now it's flakey
Our ML370 G3 had all 4 cpu fans go out, however the fans weren't bad. HP replaced our motherboard. Now it's saying a stick of ram is bad. With that stick (and the other in the pair) we can at least get into smart start. However it lockes up hard when trying to a restore.
We even tried our own Win2k and Win2k3 cd's and it freezes hard in the middle of setup in random places.
We also lost our array when this happened, we had to recreate it.
Is it possible the other ram or cpu's are bad?

Re: ML370, new mobo now it's flakey
It's possible there's something wrong with the replacement system board. It's possible it could be ram or cpu, but if there wasn't a problem with the memory before this board was replaced, then it's likely a system board problem.
I'm a little concerned about your having lost your array. How did this happen? A bad system board or bad memory shouldn't cause you to loose your array. Is setup always failing while it's copying files to the drive? If so, then there may be an issue with the array controller.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: ML370, new mobo now it's flakey
That could be true Terry. Chad, if the CPU fans all stop, it could be that the one or more of the CPU's incurred overheat damage and as they get hot they now hang.
Remove 2 and get down to 2. Try a reboot. If still hangs, try the other 2. them swap. Could help.
