ML370G3 Grey Screen

Server ML 370 G3
Windows 2003 Standart
VERITAS Storage Foundation Version: 4.2.30.0
VERITAS Backup Exec Version 10 5884
Support Pack 7.4
All Firware is updated

Problem is that during some operation server stays in Zomby Mode
There is only Grey Screen an no pictures no reaction for CTR-ALT-DEL or power button
It can be pinged and that is all.

the only way to reboot is to push power button for 10 seconds.

Does anybody heard of that.
This server is not alone.

Is any chance that you have mixed memory??

Re: ML370G3 Grey Screen

Memory is not mixed.
Gray screen is related not to ILO connection it is related to Console.

Re: ML370G3 Grey Screen

If you're seeing this on more than one server, then I suspect it has something to do with the Hardware and/or Software configuration.

"Gray screen is related not to ILO connection it is related to Console." - Does that mean you can connect to the ILO and you see everything normally through the remote console?

If there server reponds to a ping, then it's not locked up. The fact it takes 10 seconds for the server to shutdown is unusual, but it is normal for it for it to require holding the power button down for 5 seconds.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

I think you missunderstood.
You know when server freeze you have to push power button for 5-10 seconds.
This is the same situation but it is replyes to PING.
