ML370T01 system partition setup

I inherited an old ML370T01 recently and I threw a few 36.4GB drives in to increase storage capacity. I realized that Compaq used a system partition and I don't have the SmartStart CD that came with the unit. Basically I can't do anything with the server since I can't configure the array, install an OS, etc. Is there any way I can rebuild the system partition and have a functioning machine?

Hi Keith,

If you want to start from scratch, use the System ERASE utility which will clear all settings on the Smart Array and BIOS. The Smarstart CD can then be used to set up the Array and perform the install. You can also run erase from the CD.

The Erase utility, Smartstart 5.50 iso image and drivers/utilities for Windows 2000 are available from here.

You will need to create a Smartstart CD from the ISO image with any CD burning software (Nero etc.)

There is also a floppy based version of the Array Configuration Utility (ACU) but I can't locate it at the moment. If I can find it I will pass the link on.

I hope this helps.
