ML380p Gen8 fan speed problem

hi

i have a HP ml380p-gen8. i installed ESXi 5.5 on the server and every thing was ok.

today i put 2 new HDD in server, go to p420i controller and made a new pool. (before i just have 2 HDD )

after ESXi loading compleatly, the fans start working on 99.6%

i power off the server, take out the new HDD, power on again and every thing was ok again.

so how i can solve esx problem with this 2 new hdd?

(on system bios the fan speed is on minimum)

Re: ML380p Gen8 fan speed problem

Hi,

Is this a HP branded hard drive?

Non-HP hard drives or hardware may cause the fans to run at high speeds.

Here are some articles that may help you.  Temperature reading on the hard disk drive cage is not possible when AHCI or Legacy mode is enabled.
