ML530 G1 Server
Newbie here
I have a ML530 G1 Server withe Ubuntu loaded on it. I have stuffed up all the conf files and want to do a clean install but i don't seem to be able to boot into the bios system to boot from cd drive.any ideas?

Hi,
G1 servers uses the SCU (System Configuration Utility) software to access the BIOS. SCU present on system partition only if you installed your Proliant with SmartStart CD (Version 5.50 for g1 servers)
You can create the SCU diskettes and boot from disk #1 to access the BIOS setup.

or you can boot from SmartStart 5.50 CD

The G1 servers do not have an embedded application to access the BIOS configuration. It was installed on a system partition, that almost everybody has erased by now.
You can access the System Configuration Utility booting with SmartStart 5.5 CD or with 4 diskettes.

By the way, Ubuntu is not supported on Proliant servers, good luck.
