Timothy:

Make sure you used version 4.11...
Here is a link to the latest

If you did, you may try to re-flash the bios using a "new" diskette.

Re: ML570 Rom update problem

ML570 running Windows 2003 enterprise for over a year. Rom Version P32-02/04/2003
Installed Rom Version P32-06-23-2004
After the install of the new Rom the OS registered only 3.5 gig of RAM. Rolled back the new Rom and OS reads 16 gig of RAM. Trouble ticket has been sent the HP technical teams.

Re: ML570 Rom update problem

We're Having the same issue with several of our ML570's, we just upgraded them past the 4gig barrier and put 2003 Enterprise on them and they're only showing 3.75 gig to the OS. They still count the entire 8192 gig on bootup. Just tried the above solution of reflashing with that version. Same thing. Our ML570's are P20 version

Anyone have any ideas ?

Re: ML570 Rom update problem

Dave,

After a long review and a battle with HP you have to add the /PAE switch to the system startup and Recovery setting. This only has to be done if you plan to upgrade any more ROM pack to any 570 server.

But HP has made it very clear to me that the problem is not with there hardware or rom pack but Microsoft's OS...

The fix above will fix your problem.

Re: ML570 Rom update problem

YES.. I found that /PAE switch late last night, and yes that did fix the issue. It's obviously an issue between the OS and the BIOS but I think it's a case of one blaming the other. Eitherway hte /PAE switch did fix the issue , thanks every so much for your reply though.
