MP status in insight manager is ?

On DL380g4 and Proliant Management ver 7.30, I could open Integrated Lights Out from System Management Homepage but I can not open it from HP system insight manager. The status of MP on HP SIM is "?". I also got the status of Pover converter "?" in HP system management homepage. What should I do to fix this problem ?

Probably you can solve this problem if you update HP SIM to sp4

Make sure you have last ILO firmware as well, and do upgrade to PSP 7.40 if you can

Thanks 4 your immediatly respons.Now I still downloading the sp4 for SIM. BTW how about my 2nd question that my power converter status is unknown by system management homepage ?

Where you see power converter in system management homepage?
On our Proliants I see only "Power supply" under Recovery.
Anyway, I think you need to install PSP 7.40 before starting troubleshooting with Power converter status.
BTW, which OS you use?

Igor,

I found power converter under "RECOVERY". There are many device listed under RECOVERY: Autorecovery, Environment, Power Supply, Power Converter, then Remote Communication.
The Power Supply is detected as Normal (checked green). But the Power Converter status is detected as Unknown (Question mark).
I will inform you about result of updating HP SIM to SP4.Thanks a lot.

Which version of System management Homepage is installed.Please attach a snapshot if possible.

Did you already install SP4? If it's help?
If no - try to run identification task for management proccessor IP (from Options->Identify systems in HP SIM).
Regarding power converter status - try to install PSP 7.40

7.3 has System Management Homepage version 2.0.2.106 cp005171.exe

Support Pack 7.4 has System management Homepage version 2.1.2.127 cp005545.exe

Try uninstalling the current System Management Homepage and install the new version and check.

Installing Support pack 7.4 would be the other way.

By looking at your MP status, you need to manually enter (or scan the IP range) of your iLo for it to appear. after that, do a software status polling to update the database. Let me know how it works for you.

Hi all,

I ever install HP SIM 7.4 on W2K3 on other system, but I notified that minimum OS requirement is W2K3 SP1( I use W2K in this case). Is this right ? I already download HP SIM sp32151.exe but hasn't installed yet. I'll try this first and announce the result. Thanks for you guys.

Hi all,

Still have an unknown status of Power Converter.I tried to install HP SIM sp4 and I got messages like in the attachment. I have manually discover the Management Processor by typing it's IP and its work fine, thank you guys. Once again I installed SMH and SIM from CD version 7.30, what HP SIM version I installed from this CD ? Can anybody explain about other Question Mark in my SMH ? Thanks

1) It seems you don't have HP SIM 5 version on server where you try to install sp4.
Maybe you have HP SIM 4.2 version?
AFAIK, Management CD 7.30 contain HP Systems Insight Manager 4.2 SP2.
Anyway, the problem with MP status solved, right?

2) PSP 7.40 can be installed on windows 2000

Hi all,

Problem with MP is solved now. Many times ago I installed W2K3 on ML350 G4 and Management CD ver. 7.40 bundled with it.There I found the massage similar like "the minimum requirement for Insight manager I installed from that CD is W2K3 sp1". Then I aborted the intallation and used 7.30 CD version. I'll try using version 7.40 next time.

MP Status solved by manually type ILo IP address in manual discovery.
